i had to play with my bangs for a while for them to sit the way i wanted (these pics aren't the best, but i tried!). other than that, i got my layers back and my hair dresser did a fabulous job. highly recommend.

Since this was a really simple outfit day, I decided to focus on my main accessory: my Chanel specs!

I've had these prescription glasses for maybe 2 years now (but been blind since nearly forever), and these big black frames have yet to go out of style. For me, it's the combo of geek chic mixed with a wider spectrum of which to see from - I have smaller/narrower purple Lacoste prescription glasses, but they just don't cover as much ground due to the smaller lenses.

What's your favorite accessory? Do you tend to wear bigger glasses/sunglasses or stick with the small and simple?

man, getting back into the groove of blogging can be really tough, but thankfully i have my faithful bouzins to keep me in check (aka, keep bugging me about posting). thus, following the lead of MoreThanJazzz on her outfit posts, i have scheduled a new outfit post for every other day so that this blog space doesn't suffer from the once-a-month post syndrome. i also like the idea of documenting my outfits, so that one day i can look back and either say "ohay qt!" or "what was i thinking?!"

Actually, MODvintageshop's entire collection of frames is incredibly appealing (not to mention incredibly affordable). I love the Red Transparent Round ones & the 50s Transparent Frames with pink edges, but the above 4 colors just seem like they'd work better with my face/complexion.

If you remember my sunglasses collection post from way back when (peep it here), then you know I have a more than slight obsession with glasses/sunglasses of all types. I'm hoping to do an updated post now that it's been over a year and the collection has most definitely grown (though I did get rid of a few really old pairs!). More on that to come, so stay tuned! :P

VDay weekend & my new love packages!

So I totes owe MoreThanJazzz & BayVag about a million overdue blog posts, but hey better late than never! So, I'm going to skip all the verbal descriptions and just skip to all the visuals:

Getting ready for VDay weekend sushi dinner & scorpion bowls in my new ASOS mono sleeved dress, which I love and is super comfy. Finding the right accessories proved to be difficult as always, so this was version #1:

and this would be version #2, aka the final version since it was waaay too cold out to go out without material covering my legs:

haha Mike's fake smile, such a boy. I'd definitely prefer the first version of how I wore this dress, but winter somehow just somehow forces you to wear black when covering up. I cannot wait for spring/summer! But I do love my final choice of accessories: a short embellished necklace, a couple of rhinestone bracelets, and of course my leopard print nails!

And last, but certainly not least, is my bag wear out that night. Aka my new favorite accessories probably of all time:

So my good ol' overtime paycheck just came in, and besides finally purchasing the tortoise ASOS watch and grey croc print ASOS over-sized bag in my last post, here's the rest of my much needed purchases from over this weekend:

hey gurls hey!

ok, so i've once again gone MIA on you guys but just know that i've been working my little tush off at the new job & have been overall just having a blast in my newly created "adult life," but i most certainly/sincerely have missed all of you and your posts that so brighten up my day.

tbh, i'm starting this blog up again because #1) it's been a super sloooow week for once, and #2) one of my best friends in real life has just started her own, wonderfully fabulous blog (welcome my betch: MoreThanJazz!)

now, to keep this on the shorter side i'm just going to pretend that i haven't been gone at all and just pick right back up with posts as soon as i have time. here we go, update numero uno!

i've been doing a lot of online shopping for bright/decorative new desk supplies now that the agency i work for has moved to our shiny new Boston office, and these are my most recent quirky favorite finds:

Hay gurls hay! So seeing as I am graduating tomorrow morning, have a new job I start on Tuesday, plus my recent other sort of "side job" that allows me to attend countless exclusive events for free, and new apartment hunting on top of it all, I am all over the place right now. But I wouldn't have it any other way, considering this is the best kind of busy since it's all productive and exciting! For this reason, I've had many reasons to look my best as of late, so I think this week will start a slew of posts titled "Event Outfits" that will document my outfits for all these occasions. This isn't really meant to be a fashion piece since I by no means live in the luxurious world of designer-wear, but I do like to look back and relive my outfit choices (whether that be to look back and nod in approval, laugh at the ridiculousness, cry in disgust at "what was I thinking?!" or so on).

Thus, without further ado I will start with Event Outfit #1 - from the Hyatt Regency opening party on the terrace, sponsored by Bacardi:

Ughh hiatus be gone! Sorry about the absence from blogging, but with finishing up my final semester of school EVER and preparing for graduation (next Monday, eep!) I have been busting my chops busy. But of course, you gotta work hard to play hard, and I have a ton of free events coming up (I love my side job) to celebrate all my scholarly endeavors. Marathon Monday Maddness (late edition)

A happy Friday to all you lovey ladies! But, this here's gonna be a Monday recap (hey, there's only less than 5 days left in my entire undergrad career, so this lady's hustlin' & bustlin'). So for those of you who share my same residence of Boston, MA, you may recall that last Monday was a little well known holiday some like to refer to as Patriot's Day, while others like to call it "Marathon Monday" to acknowledge the Boston marathon and, uhm 8am-5pm public benders. It's like giving back to one another - runners power out 25miles while fans drunkenly cheer you on the whole way. Mmhmm, it's definitely a good time. Even street vendors sell special shirts for the holiday that read "Marathon Monday - it's better than Christmas!" I'll let pictures do the talking from this point on:

CupcakeCamp Boston!

Ok, so for anyone who follows me on Twitter and/or Facebook, you know I've been really excited about this one little thing called CupcakeCamp Boston. Well, it was last night and it. was. awesome! I can't even describe the storm of cupcake goodness/mayhem, so I will do what I do best and document my evening with pictures:

this was the line of like 300+ people waiting to get in,
luckily I registered early & got immediate access :)

people were encouraged to bring their own cupcakes to support the event, so this was my batch: red velvet cupcakes with 1 row of just cream cheese frosting, 1 row w/sprinkles,
& 1 row w/chocolate chips and/or peanut butter chips

everyone was taking their empty trays and filling them w/cupcakes to take home, so I picked out all of my favorites only to have the bouncers deny us all! haha. guess the lesson is that you should ask first before following the trend.
I ended up taking one bite out of each one before having to throw them away, what a waste :(

and so starts the documentation of me being a fatty, up close & personal!

Post inspired by this lovely lady :) Lazy days by the lake just blocks from Mike's house are certainly one of my favorite things to look forward to for all of spring/summer. Hope the sun is shining bright for all your Tuesdays as well!

Oh, and for those of you who asked about my watermelon nails in my last post, there's not really much to it other than this:

1) paint a regular pink coat onto your nails first, then wait to dry
2) make sure you have a dark enough green for the tips, you'll still probably have to do a double coating
3) once the pink and green are dried, draw on "seeds" with an ordinary permanent marker
4) finish it all off with a heavy top coat

And voila! haha, sorry if that doesn't help too much, but I'm not a fan of overly complex work anyways. Experimenting with funky nails just makes me happy so I don't mind putting in the extra "work," but if you still feel like you can't do this on your own but want this for your own nails - just ask your local nail salon to do it for you! Voila #2 :)

TGIF ladies! and thank goodness for that. Oh and for those that asked, Hot Tub Time Machine was awesome!! Just so long as you have the most juvenile sense of humor, that is, you should find this movie pretty damn funny. Also, I went to go see it with my 3 friends and since then there have been so many hilarious quotes that I've been wanting to say all day to my boyf, but he just won't get it haha. Also a reason why I will abstain from quoting the movie in my blog, even though I really want to! :P

Anyways, this here post is meant to show off my new watermelon nails! They're really 5th grade, but like I care? Also it may look like I have too much time on my hands, but I painted these babies at 3am instead of sleeping. Gotta have pretty paws.

i has a seeeecret...

The seeeecret is...I've been thinking about doing a giveaway for a while now, but haven't really been sure about what to give away/how to do it (contest or random?). Now that it's getting closer to my final days of being an undergrad (ugh. extremely excited but also scared! ngl), I have to clean out all my closets and start looking for new places to live come the very beginning of May. That's only a month away people! Also, I have a lot of ~~shit~~ barely touched stuff I really need to get rid of. I usually donate all my unwanted items (I actually have a huge trashbag filled to the brim with clothes I am donating this weekend, but there's still more where that came from!), but for my little treasures I have but simply have no space for I want to give them to my faithful followers. After all, you've all been so extremely kind throughout my entire blogging time. Even after I fell off the face of the blogger world for 3 months, you were still there when I came back to listen to my random posts! Love you guys for that, and I mean that for real.

So, any suggestions on what would make the ideal giveaway? I open to options, but definitely the more creative/wacky the better, so bring 'em on :)

the colors of springtime!

So to those I just made very hungry through my last post, I'm sorry :P but I most definitely would have RSVP'd all of you to share in that ridiculous meal :)

Anyhows, other than free delicious eats (and free anything, really), there's really nothing much that I love more than bold colors to give you an uplifting spirit to guide you towards an oh-happy-day. This week has provided so much sunshine & good weather that I followed its message & wore my comfiest, vibrant, red-orange ruffle tube dress with gold flippy floppies. I even fell into a joyous fit over my mom's new bouquet of flowers, & I don't even like flowers at all, but these little budding buddies perked me right up.

Serious Good Eats

So this past Easter weekend was super busy with fun in the sun activities that I am still catching up on posting the pictures! Anyhows, this set is probably my absolute favorite, because I was lucky enough to be one of the first 100 people to make a reservation for a FREE lunch at the oh so swanky, even more delicious than you could imagine, Turner Fisheries in Boston. I took my friend Amanda along as a belated bday present, and we were just expecting a free entre and maybe a dessert. WRONG. We got the works. As in, when we asked what exactly on the menu was free the waiter literally said to us "everything." The promotion was to get potential fans to try literally as many items on the menu as possible, hoping that in the end when we got our comment cards that we would honestly say that every dish was fabulous. Oh, it was. And I am definitely spreading the most positive word of mouth.

Here's just a few of the items we ordered during what turned out to be a 12 course meal:

starting off with oysters
(I've only had them doused in black bean sauce & Amanda had never even tried them before,
so we were a little scared but they we surprisingly tasty)

the most jumbo of jumbo shrimp cocktail.
(Amanda told me to place my lemon wedge from my iced tea beside it to get the huge effect.
this baby tasted like steak, it was so meaty good!)

haha I am mid-sentence & in absolute wow over this dip

BEST. DIP. OF MY LIFE.
no lie, Amanda & I were raving about that dip for days later.

yes, we did order every dessert item on the menu :)
mini molten chocolate lava cake, creme brulee, rhubarb pie, & a mango sorbet sort-of cake w/caramelized pineapples

can I just point out that there is a bite taken out of each dish? haha.
I couldn't wait, I had to sneak a taste before I could manage to compose myself for a pic

Happiest tummies after that lunchtime extravaganza, and those aren't even all the pics! I'd be so excited for every new dish that came out that I would scarf it down before I had time to remember to take a pic. And really, all the pics I just posted don't even do the restaurant justice. It's location is perfect, we sat right next to the open window on a gorgeously sunny day, and spent literally 3 hours there total. We had to walk up and down Newbury Street to work off just that dip alone, haha. But in complete honesty, there was nothing off that menu that I wouldn't recommend. Extremely wonderful service as well. Thinking about coming back there for my graduation dinner. Thinking about ordering about 10 cases of that dip to take home! As a side note I've been stalking the restaurant's Facebook fan page/Twitter for more excuses to come back.

Easter Feaster

Easter is this Sunday folks, and yes I'm Catholic and I love Jesus and all that good stuff, but color me typical little girl as I celebrate my love of bunnies and everything that is cute and cuddly (sorry big J, you always get looked over for both Christmas/your birthday and then your resurrection/Easter. that really sucks.)

So, somewhere in these hectic past 2 weeks and my last post, I forgot to mention that I went out/went nail polish crazy and picked out about 8 new colors. No joke, it's like a rainbow threw up but neatly into 8 little bottles. So, after my last post I thought very long about what should be the first color I go with...and here we have it!

like a couple weeks ago. I fell in love! It's what I refer to as the "poor man's Sephora"
- mostly all the same stuff but with the cheaper/mainstream drug store cosmetics as well.

Ok, so in all honesty I don't know how well I can rock the yellow. It's one of my favorite colors and an immediate uplifter, but I may have to leave it for my clothes and accessories and off my nails after this little trial. Anyways, I'll leave 'em on for a few days, but here is one of my top yellow accessory picks that can do no wrong in my eyes:

Pastel Nail Polish

So I’ve never bitten my nails before, but I do definitely have a gross habit of picking at my cuticles all the time. Always having my nails painted helps to stop this obscenity, plus these colors make me happy. I’m also a big fan of multi-colored nails, call it tacky but Nicole knows how I roll! (and she’s one awesome lady). So here are my top choices for this fall:

so first of all i would like to say thank you all so much for your kind words about my situation last week. it was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, but like ive said a million times over at least i have my health and the people who matter to me most - boyf, friends, family, and even the kindness of strangers to help me stay positive, strong, and lift my spirits in the most sh*tty of times.

as for my shopping therapy date, that had to be postponed thanks to another 12309823 responsibilities that showed their uly face to me last weekend, but if i can have my way it is rescheduled for this thursday/into the weekend :) for now, ill leave you with some fairly recent purchases i made not so long ago...

so i have this big thing for animal rings lately. my bunny ring now has some hooting company :)
tbh, not counting my bunny bling (which was the first and original startup to my addiction), i really only wear the white owl ring and dont wear the earrings at all, but they came in a set so of course i couldnt resist.

these next two are a couple additonal little creatures that i must have...soon.
mr. elephant, mr. panda, can you guys just climb onto my fingers so i can take you home already?! ok, that sounded weird...

alas, i am stuck at work on another boring but at least slightly relaxing but then again filled with massive pooploads of homework to accomplish...i digress. these photobooth snapshots say it all - arguably content.

hey guys,

it's been a terribly rough week for my neck of the woods, but since i really dont like to look at this blog as a personal space to write about bad days (all i will say is that i was mugged monday night, but am way more happy that i am safe/unhurt), i will insist on writing about the things that have made the end of this week much more satisfying:

- a co-worker agreeing to switch shifts w/me so that i no longer have to work

the Sunday midnight shift

- boloco mediterranean bowls

- it being near 70s since thursday and continuing throughout this weekend

(hello sunnies, flip flops & bright toes!)

- good friends and much needed quality time/conversation with them

i am very thankful for all these things and certainly much more, and im doing my best to stay positive no matter what. im moving on, staying alert, and sure as hell that karma will be a bitch.

also im hoping to drag my sweet little boyf into some big time shopping therapy for me this weekend. heh. a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Forever21 Abstract Color Contrast Skirt

i dunno about you guys, but i have a firm stand against wearing pants. like, i hate the way they feel and i'd always, always, rather be wearing a skirt or shorts. also, my hate for pants includes an equal, if not moreso, hate for leggings. no offense to leggings fans but i think they're horrid. especially if you like to wear them as pants, aka nothing covering ya bum...uhm, arent you worried about flashing that hardcore camel toe?? but tbh, i do own one pair and i'll admit they are really really comfy. they just dont come out of the house :)

anypoodles, i really love that f21 skirt...just minus the pleats. i've been a catholic school girl since kindergarten-high school, so for me pleats = uniform = gross. i mainly love the pattern, which leads into my latest spring shoot with my closely themed white & blue, "abstract" floral, light-weight blouse.

another spring fashion fashion rule in my book is comfort, which this shirt is.

ok so i have come to realize that coming back into the blogging world after a long break means updating my blogger layout. for now all i have is a new header, and im still not too sure how much i like it but yah know, i aint no profesh photog or anything.

speaking of "profesh photog," last night had some of the best abbreviated conversation quotes that had me ROFL legit until the next morning. it's even more fun to use abbreves when there are guys around, because you know for sure thatll push most of their buttons ahaha. if any of you lovely blogging ladies arent a fan of the abbreves, well, sry2say it's one of my quirks :P

so im in class right now, craziest most hectic semester ever but it is MY LAST! so im sorry for being M.I.A. for like, too many months now, but i promise i will try and find more time to blog again. i actually had to set up a separate, mandatory blog for my social media class (for those who follow me on twitter, sorry for spamming you with the #ESM hashtag every tuesday night haha) so ive decided to make a big effort to do double time work and post back here again on a weekly basis.

apartment update! yaaay

hihihi guys!

so im finally settling in to L.A. fast and well and all is grand over here. i have Skype to thank for getting rid of the huge burden that was not being able to see my mikeycakes for months, and cyber face-to-face chatting is much better than plain phone chatting any day. fur reels. also mike lets roland and mr. fuzzypants into the convo every now and then, too, so it's like i have the whole cuddle club right with me when we're talking :)

anyhows, the apartments are rather pleasant despite being ancient (they were built in 1969...yeah...). i live in a quad with 3 other roomates, meaning 2 people per bedroom. sooo, even though the apt is nice and spacey upon entering, the actual bedrooms are pretty cozy - BUT they have good closet space, so this girl aint complaining! oh and each room gets their own bathroom, huzzah! (thank the big g i didnt ever have to live in a dorm with a community shower...ughh the nightmares) anyways, i'll let the pics say the rest:

hi lovies!

sorry ive been a bad blogger all last week and longer, but ive been rushing around like a mad woman trying to settle in my new home of 3 months in LA. just wanted to let you know ive arrived safely (though not a happy camper...i hate hate haaaate flying - smelly planes, no personal space, crappy food/drink, forced sitting, etc.) and me and the 3 other roomies are just settling in (slowly but surely!). though it's really sad of me to say because i just got here, but i am really homesick missing mike, roland (my bunny), and mr. fuzzypants (his/our kitty). gotta keep telling myself not to stress, and i'll see them again soon (flying air kisses from one coast to the other!)

just not from this ^ guy...

anyhows, no personal pics for today, as i am beyond mentally exhausted. just wanna let you ladies know ive missed you and will try catching up on all your blogs asap! but pls dont get mad if im scarce on posts for the first move-in month, you can just expect crazy LA stories to make up for it :) haha o boy i dont know if i can live up to that statement...!

hello lovies!

so as some of you may already know, i am moving exactly 1 week from today to spend my fall semester (finally a senior btw, yessir!) at my college's Los Angeles Program. the whole point is to give students interested in the entertainment industry (mostly film and marketing students, of which i am the latter) the opportunity to attain an internship in some of the most successful companies out there. so far i've had phone interviews with ABC/Disney and NBC/Universal, and i am scheduled for an in-person interview with Focus Features the week i arrive.

needless to say, i am sooooper excited but also nervous/emo about leaving behind my loved ones :[ but hey, it's only 3 months and the semesters always fly by for me, and though im going to miss autumn (one of my favorite seasons, and definitely worth the trip to New England if youve never seen/been), i'll be home in time for christmas in the city paved with snow (the only way it should be spent, just imo...though i can do away with february's brutal wind storms)!

anyhows, i'll be living here in the Oakwood Apartments

DVF Fall '09 handbag launch/Penthouse Party!

ohai guys!

so to recap last night's festivities, me and my loverly friend amanda went to a penthouse party on Congress St. to celebrate the DVF fall 2009 handbag launch. in short, it was AWESOME. my old work (Stuff Magazine) was co-sponsoring with Luna Boston (check out that link to their website to see all of their jaw dropping goodies) and Bin Ends Wine (ummm 1230123821 empited bottles of free wine by the end of the night, so good). i didnt get any pictures inside the actual event because of all the crowded mayhem going on, but these were some of her bags on display/on sale that night:

so to answer the question in my last post, my bfffl kristin just turned 31 this past week! yes, thirty one not 21 haha. and yes, she still gets asked for her ID at rated R movies. keepin' the youth girl! i think all filipinos look about 5-10yrs younger than they actually are though, because even though i dont get carded for movies or even alcohol most of the time, i still have distant relatives ask if ive graduated high school yet...sigh. at least i'll look bangin' when im 40 though! :X

anyhows, she left to go back to Vegas yesterday and i wish her the best! she definitely brought the best, or maybe worst? haha, of Vegas back home last weekend xD

she's like 4'9" and would put this drink to shame if it were real! (all the shots of Crown were her idea, that's her trademark partygurl drank lols)

and then this is how i spent my hour and a half "lunch" break today...buying me some quick goodies!

hayyo, what a weekend!

so as i mentioned at the end of my last post, Kristin, one of my bfff's since birth and truly my 2nd sister, came home for the weekend to celebrate her extended birthday in Boston! extra points to whoever can guess how old she just turned. haha, we all joke about her cutie petiteness, but *hint* she is older than me! anyways, to sum up the night here is yet another vast array of pictures...they may not say it all, but they say enough. hehe :X

ah yes, what a night...where we arrived back home at 5:30am just so i could sleep for about 4hrs and wake up for a pool party at my grandparents house of all places! haha. it was my Lolo's (that means grandpa in Tagalog, aka "Filipino" i guess to some...) bday and we had yet another delicious bbq, and thank holy heavens i managed to avoid a hangover. instead, i got to appreciate this big bundle of cuteeenesssss while i lounged in the sun :D

my niece Kamryn, who has the maturity of a 30yr old sometimes i swear! intelligent and sweet to the bee's knees!

ahh, this entire week has been so crazy busy. but i've loved every minute of it, and i think the drinking every single day since monday factor has helped (oh and you know it only continues on stronger for the rest of this weekend!). in short, that opening just means that this will be a picture heavy post (my fave, it seems)!

so anyways, it was funny that you all commented on my last post wishing i had stuck with the UO dress...because i ended up doing just that! haha. so now im glad you actually approved of it. it was just way too hot to wear my thick, black dress, and i mean common who doesnt love summertime floral?? i paired it with a chunky necklace and that's about it. again, must keep minimal in a 90-degree scorcher! here's a select "few" shots to sum up the Red Carpet Gala event:

hey guys, so i just took two separate 45min "lunch" breaks in hopes of finding a decent dress for this gala tonight...but no such luck. i did buy this little gem from UO, however:

the boys are back in town! sorry Don, everybody knows the creative dept. has more fun :)

i dunno if it's only my entire marketing class at Emerson who watches it, because none of my personal friends do (laaame), but i cannot help but get giddy over it and hope that my future in a prestigious ad agency is as over-dramatically entertaining. and trust me, ive been told many a personal stories about real life in the ad world, and though it's often not so pretty, it is always a hoot and a half. and yes, there are mimosas served at 9am conferences so ive been told :)

anyways, so this tuesday night ive been invited to a special Yelp! event Red Carpet Gallery Gala at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

oh the kicks keep on comin'! i am sooo amped for their "sizzling-hot beauty treatments including aromatherapy, mini-manicures, make-up applications and hair styling", the
live music, their super fun photobooth taking idea, and of course the free food and cocktails! haha. not so swanky am i now, just a little mootcher after all :P

so of course, i need to find the perfect outfit!! and i am stumped. however, after being inspired as per every season of watching Mad Men, i want to go out and buy mike a cute little skinny tie with thick stripes and fun colors plus blazer - though we might have to skip any sort of jacket, as the heatwave is going to reach 93degrees on tuesday, eep! and then i might pull a re-wear (GASP, oh no i didnt! haha) of the dress Ken Cosgrove's wife wore to this season's premiere (see previous post *here*)...hmm, guess youll just have to wait and see! im hoping to have my own gala of pictures to show of the night :)

so fridays have officially become either skip work entirely days, or bring boyfriend to work day, of which today is the latter. yays! anyways, if you couldnt already tell all i do here is goof off, so i will incorporate a funny South Park clip that we watched the other night that has to do with young girls being obsessed with making lists, particularly ranking the cutest boys to the ugliest boys in school:

oye, guess whos got a case of the monday blues?? not that i dont like a new start in the workweek (i really look forward to mondays actually, since it is my day of catch-up reading all your blogs and makes 8hrs fly by!), but i've finally caught the summer time sickies.

wth, who honestly gets sick in the summer?? it is just the worst. i still came into work even though i am a congested fool (i honestly sound like Chuckie from the Rugrats), with a chaffed nose and gross cough thrown in every now and then. dont worry, i hate germs/people who spread them but i work my college's computer lab (nothing at all special compared to my marketing job at the architecture firm, which i loooove but only intern at 1 day a week) that is nearly empty 98% of the time since it's the summertime.

so please exuse my lack of posting/a proper weekend update per my usual routine!! ...that will have to wait until i feel better enough to even recall/collect any of my thoughts, since as of now all i've got is one giant brain sneeze :[

it's even funnier that this is a cheapo F21 dress she's walking down the red carpet...i guess our current economic situations really are changing peoples' spending habits(??)

well herrow my lovely bloggers, hope you all had a superberific weekend!! :D

seems i have been out of the blogging scene once again as of late. boo to that! but alas, this is how you know school is rapidly approaching...and my fall semester in LA will be here in just one more month. eep. i am so not prepared. however, last friday i successfully completed all of my top priority applications to my top 4 favorite companies in Burbank that i want to intern at. i am limited to the companies closer to Burbank rather that all of LA since i wont have a car, which is probably the thing i need the most to pursue a good career out there, but hey cant a poor girl get by with some power walking legs?? Anyways, here are the 4 companies i've sent my CV's and resume to:

Other than that, this weekend was spent enjoying the amazing scenery of one of my godbrother's weddings. It was seriously soo gorgeous - outside ceremony at a country club-esque location, on a perfectly sunny day (except for those poor men in full suits...sweating bullets isnt exactly appropriate for the occassion, but i applaud your efforts!). Unfortunately I brought my camera, but forgot to put the battery back in after charging it...grrr!

o yeah, i gots a new haircut too! haha. im still trying to get used to it...my hair is just way too thick and gets really poofy easily with the constant rain and humidity of this summer *sigh*.

hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts!! but i have finally caught up to reading all your latest posts (so much work, but so worth it since you guys are too funny and a wonderfully creative bunch)!

as you know, this past friday until yesterday night was spent in Montreal for a mini-vaca for the boyf's 24th bday bash. so without further ado, and no need for rambling, i present you with the hightlight pics (heavy pics, rather) of the weekend! :)

Sugar Heaven!! we used to have one in Boston on Newbury St. but it closed down not too long ago and broke my heart...until i stumbled upon this one in Montreal's "underground tunnel" - which was essentially a 5 floor mall (overwhelming indeed, and me and mike found that we spent most time aweing at all the food choices)!

of course mike got Street Fighter themed energy drinks - Sonic Boom & Dragon Punch. sadly there was no ChungLi Kickin' Cootch Juice for me :(

oh well, the Sonic Boom was too intense anyways..even for this BA mutherfluffer!

it's a special boy's birthday in just 1 day...can ya guess?? IT'S MIKEYCAKES, YAAAY!! the goober is turning 24 tomorrow and i cant wait to smother him with birthday keeshes :-*
...but for now, get ready for the longest post everrr, but hopefully will be worth the read! :D

so as an early bday present, i took him to one of his favorite childhood bands and we pop punked it out to Green Day last night haha. it was a blast actually! we were like teenagers all over again. plus they put on a great set, full of:

- pyrotechnic explosions - a special segment of show tunes (my favorite!)

- calling on random audience memebers to come up on stage (a 10yr old boy was "healed" haha, a few kids got to sing different whole verses of their songs, and one lucky fella got to play an entire song on Billy Joe's guitar) --
life changing moments for these kids? hell yah

- and the always fun confetti closing.

as for tomorrow/his actual birthday, it will prob consist of close friends time and dinner plans, because there is nothing like good food in good company :)

and then on friday morning we are trecking it up north to the lovely land of canada (and their maple leaf hats!!) for an extended weekend vacation in montreal (woohoo party city!! haha). we are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Centre-ville (see: here or here) which was fabulously cheap and looks just right for our simple tastes -- constant commenting on "comfiest beds ever" + wonderfully scenic patios and rooftop pool = perfect!

also, mike & i have made a tradition ever since we first started dating to go to Six Flags for his birthday. here is a picture documenting the first birthday of his we shared (his 20th):

the Superman (Ride of Steel) of course!! (only now it's changed to the stupid "Bizarro"...ughh like wtf is that?) anyways, if you dont know what the Superman is, you are surely missing out! it is a 221ft drop at 71degrees and at 77mph right at the start, amazingness. and can you believe this was the first rollercoaster id ever been on?? when it comes to amusement parks there's never been a risk i didnt like :)

speaking of risks, and also to go along with recapping mike's birthdays, on his 21st birthday he wanted to go out in style. not the usual, boring, "lets drink until i puke like ill never see tomorrow!" type of deal - instead we went skydiving. it was definitely one of the greatest experiences ever, and im so glad i got to share it with him. and because he was the big, tough, birthday boy he wanted to go first, which actually made me extremely calm instead of nervous, but definitely 110% excited for the jump. no pics from that night sadly (and videos of it were like $200 a person, a lot of $$$ for a poor 18yr old like me at the time), however we did get certificates for proof and my memories will last my whole lifetime! the site itself is awesome btw, here is the link plus photos of the area + their tandems:

the location of Skydive New England in Maine. we stayed in those cabins overnight and they had the most kickass, huge bonfire i had ever seen! plus can you see all those parachutes landing in the center of the grassfield? well as soon as we drove up and parked, we all just looked up in the sky and stared in wonder at all of the dozens of bright, vibrant chutes that were floating down.

after the intense jump it is honestly the most peaceful and goregeous view you could ever get, as once the chute comes out it is smooth sailing :)

alright alright, so to continue with mike's extravaganza bday celebrations (and the rest will be more tame hehe) for his 22nd we took a vaca to Florida and visited all the tourist hot spots - including Universal, Islands of Adventure, Medieval Times, and a Pirate Dinner (too many pics to post, so ill save you the white space). the following, however, was the best souvenir EVER.

and lastly, for his 23rd we went to the Riveria Maya, Mexico. beaches, tours (wildlife, culture, and zip lining!), clubbing, pool/wet bar and repeat every day for a week - heaven on earth!! again, too many pics to post - but ill leave you with a sceneic pic, my favorite pic and then mike's favorite pic, respectively.

weekend update!

hey guys, hope you all had a fab weekend!

so as i mentioned in my last post, this past weekend was a mini-vaca to the Cape with my sister, brother-in-law, nephew and niece. however, as a wonderful surprise, mike ended up driving the 2hr trip all the way down to pick me up on Sunday!! it was soooo fantastic, i was beyond excited to see him and so grateful to have a boyf who goes out of his way to do things for me :D and because he got there kinda early enough we got to go swimming together and lay poolside with delushious drinks! here's a quick pictcha recap:

*forewarning* - pardon my silly, stereotypical, obnoxious college girl "remember last night lyke omg!" post, but hey it was bound to happen...!

last night was a blast! it was "Amsterdam Live" at Ned Devine's bar/club which equals free sh*tty Amstel Lights (which were drank in huge portions regardless of how much they suck, because they were FREE!!) and some crappy live bands. the best part (other than the free boozin') was just hanging out with some of my favorite people that i love and adore (i hart you MT, MB, AK, and KS)!

just to jot down some highlights that i can remember and laff really hard at in the future:

- TP sticking out of my friend's pants, and not just trailing at her shoe or anything, but practically hanging out of her butt! hahaha, oh there were some good laughs indeed

- someone legit slapping mike's butt WHILE he was
in the b-room..uhmm???!?! that's MY ass,
thank you very much guy!

- threatening/joking to slam bottle over bottle to get the volcano explosion effect to work...it didnt happen,
but yet at least half of us ended up going home
having showered in Amstel

- "your mom's face's face is a GPS...!" yeah long story...? but many laughs proceeded anyways!

and etc. etc. etc.

one highlight i would like to FORGET happened, however, was having two huge toolbags come up to our table as soon as mike and my friend's other guy friend left. how desperate can you get?? not to mention they were exact replicas of these guys:

there were many awkward laughs and more disgusted stares on my behalf, but luckily they went away after a short while (only to proceed to some innocent hostess and continue to GRIND up on her, while she was still on duty...)

and that is why i dont frequent clubs, but 'twas still a fantastic overall night :D

so im at work with barely any break, and am too lazy to walk outside (it is raining if that helps, hah) and all i have in my bag are raisinets, gummy sharks, and a water bottle.

oh how appetizing...

dark chocolate only. i dont even like chocolate at all (i know, i know, im weird), but i make very few exceptions for dark.

now gummy things i looove. anything gummy (but not sour!) i will eat with youthful, joyous bliss! :)

i cant help it, i love junk food :x and let's face it, as much as i may act like a more refined and dignified college student, i live poorly and eat an abundance of artificial crap! (candy being my favorite, if you couldnt already tell....hehe)

oof, i am exhausted. much needed 4 day weekend that was spent with the sun actually out for once! yaaay! endless bbqs all around where i prob ended up gaining 15lbs or so, but totes worth it :d Rockport for the afternoon on the 4th - supposed to stay for their HUGE bonfire at night, but we got restless and headed home to watch the Wakefiled fireworks at the lake, which were sooo nice! and it ot cold fast, but luckily me and mike were well prepared and brought a fleece blanket to cuddle under :D

so this weekend was a continuation of me and mike's 4yr :D

Saturday = beach day! although overcast it was a super fun time, esp. considering we took a major detour from the original beach we wanted to go to (Hampton) and ended up at a rockin' Sea(do) & Surf Festival (Salisbury).

and here's 2 separate collages of mike and i being goofballs per usual :)

on the way home we saw some amazing clouds that reminded me of the Pixar short they showed right before "Up!" - called "Partly Cloudy" (i highly recommend seeing both, btw!)

then that night we went to a comedy performance by 2 of my faves: Eugene Mirman & Kristen Schaal! who most people recognize thanks to "Flight of the Conchords" on HBO (i highly recommend watching that show as well!) it was so cool too, because after the show me and mike went out for drinks and the two of them + family/friends ended up sitting directly across from us! i was too shy/didnt want to bother them, so sadly no paparazzi shots :P

so this thursday is me & mike's 4yr anniversary (YAAAY!!) and im sooooper excited :D and although i could go on and on about our time together and how much our love has grown throughout these amazing years, id rather not blabber out our entire life story in one blog post! that's just a whole 'nother blog in its own. rather, since im a very visual person, i have decided to post a few specific pictures of mikeycakes (aka mr. cakes) & i (his josiebean) depicting each year of our lives together :)

hey guys! happy monday & i hope you all had a great father's day :) my weekend started off kinda poopy, getting sick and having it rain nonstop, but besides that it was decent and laid back. bbq at my sister's house with my nephew and 2 nieces :D yesterday where at least the rain provided me with the perfect opp to wear my straw fedora (sry it's blurry, my camera finally broke for good and im using my iphone for now):

eep, lack of posts due to wavering internets problems and now me getting sick! :[ i blame it on global warming which has been causing this constant and endless rain (i hate how people think global warming is all about an overbearing sun and temps always being 90degrees+, when really it means more extreme weather patterns in general, esp. in terms of precipitation).

anyways, this is my exciting latest purchase (Kimichi Blue sandals from UO):

i was actually hesisitant on buying these at first, but after reading the reviews and the amazing sale they are on, i just couldnt resist! i hate waiting for mail to ship though, im very impatient :P i just hope they look as nice in person and fit well, too!

ok so that's not exactly him (thanks, internet, for the pic!), but we did find our own white squirrel who looked exactly like that one, but neither of us had a camera handy, darn! still, we're pretty sure he's been camping out our backyard so hopefully i can sneak a quick photo before he runs away next time. it was so cool, ive seen black squirrels before but never white..i wonder how he keeps his fur so clean??

First, tell your readers 10 things about you they may not know, but that are true. Second, tag 10 people with the award (im just going to tag everyone for kicks, and because i looove learning about new people)!

1) I am probably the most oblivious person you could ever meet, and this has been proven during so many different adventures with the boyf - i.e. not noticing a demolished car with broken glass everywhere within steps from me; mike telling me to look at a stranger's abnormally large legs and me needing to point directly at the man while saying (rather loudly) "who HIM??"; etc....
2) I have ridiculously thick hair that always gets commented on while getting it cut, but while many people crave voluminous locks i cant stand it!
3) I dont like wearing jeans or socks, not because they dont look good but id always rather be wearing a sun dress and sandals/flip flops.
4) Im always the one who likes to "overdress" for whatever occassion. i guess im a dress to impress at all times kind of girl, like whenever going out for a dinner date with girlfriends im always clad in flowing garments and jewlery while theyre in jeans and a simple top :P
5) I have lived in boston all my life and cannot wait to move as i finish college (1 more year!) - i want to live where the sun actually stays out for most of the year, preferably by the beach in San Diego.
6) I've always been a water baby/beach bum. when i was little id always be the first to jump right in the pool/ocean, and then stay there until my fingers were beyond raisins.
7) I went skydiving when i was 18 for my boyf's 21st bday and had to lie to my strict asian mother so that she wouldnt FLIP OUT. and she still doesnt know to this day hahah, oh i love you muma dearest<3
8) I love risk taking/risk takers - big or small. one of the easiest and smallest risks that im fond of is being open/up for trying as many crazy cuisines as i can (as long as its not one of those "delicacy" dishes that is potentially and dangerously fatal, im not stupid crazy!)
9) Besides my regular job on my college campus, i intern one day a week as a marketing assistant in a very small architecture firm and i could not be happier being exposed to so many gorgeous building structures.
10) I've come to love blogging more than i even expected, and that's 99% thanks to all of the amazing bloggers who comment and post such insipiring/interesting/entertaining/artistic/creative pieces. thank you guys so much for being AWESOME!

hahah omgosh im so glad that over the thousands of photos i have stored, it ended up being this one :) this pic was in my "20th birthday" folder when mike (my boyf of almost 4 years now!) was, naturally, so wonderful and took me to VT for a weekend of snowboarding! i had only been once before and he had never, but we always wanted to take lessons together and this was the most perfect opportunity. we stayed at this fabulous hotel in Stratton with a heated outdoor pool+hot tub (hot tubbing outdoors + snow mountains everywhere in the distance = incredible), and then cozied in our bed each night across from an amazing fireplace. our first night alone we did everything i love about winter - made smores, drank cold ale, ate crepes, had a snowball fight, and watched christmas movies whilest sipping hot coco with mini mallows. VT is seriously such an amazing site with its protected green/natural environment, i def recommend visiting!

oh yeah! i forgot to mention that i took roland out for a walk this weekend (when it was nice out, like every weekend, while as today and the rest of the week until friday it is full of gloom and rain). anyways, here's a picture of the chubby lumpkins :D

after about 5mins of few sporadic sprints back and forth, roland quickly got tired and decided to take a rest.

i love when he lays down with his feeties out like that! :) yes, he's just like his muma when it comes to being a lazy sunbum<3

and yes, as awkward as it may seem to take a bunny rabbit out for walks, people do do it. it is rather silly though, because unless your bunny is well trained, they wont really follow a direct path and i wouldnt suggest street walks. i havent strictly trained roland at all, i just like to let him roam in my back yard. maybe a carrot trail would help....hmm. also, im thinking about bringing him to the park/lake more since there is a lot more free grass space. it's just that bunnies do poop a lot, so ill have to keep watch of his every move.

regardless, ill keep you updated on if i take roland to the park/lake in the near future :) and ill leave you with a few more pics from this past weekend where i took my boyf out (without a leash, heh heh) to one of our fave spots:

i love how it's summer but the weather is only nice once the weekend comes, which isnt a problem for me working 9-5 M-F. so i like to celebrate every weekend by sporting bright colors and bare legs :)

o also, i got this yesterday while aimlessly shopping for nothing:

first off, it was only $1 - such a steal! also it ended up being really practical since i have way too many keys + savings cards on my keychain, now i can easily spot the one that opens my front door :] plus i mean, hello kitty dressed as a pineapple - what could really make this cat any cuter?? (actually im not even a big fan of hers, i prefer chococat; but like i said, the pineapple suit just sealed the deal!)

so my boyf's mum showed me this the other day. *(warning, much cuteness and possible "aws" + laffter may ensue).

it's funny that i never really liked cats at all growing up (im a dog lover), but it seemed like every one of my friends owned at least one cat that i became fond of. and of course, the boyf's little mischievous kitty is my favorite ever:

but to not leave out any pets here, since ive never been able to have a dog growing up (i do intend to have one by the time i graduate tho), mike was so amazing and surprised me on my 18th birthday with my own little fuzz ball that would be easy to take care of and small enough to keep in a cage when im not at home...not a kitty, but the most perfect bunny everrr (Roland!) :D

this is a super old pic of my mums when she first came to the states/moved from the Philippines to Boston:

i love everything about it - her leather jacket, the goofy old vintage eyeglasses, her poofy bangs and long hair for a change, and of course the river and the trees covered in snow. snow is one of the best yet worst things about living in the East Coast, but the fresh layers of white in this picture and my mum's timid yet anticipating smile just make me feel so happy with life and growing up here. i love you mumaaa<3!

my bikini collection this year! (...so far, hehe). i have a ridiculous addiction to buying an over-the-top, excessive amount of bikinis every shopping trip i go on, which is once a week at least. i know i know, the economy........

it was 90 out yesterday and wonderful! normally 90 in boston would ensue dying of heat exhaustion and lots of complaining on my behalf, but since spring hasnt shown much heat at all as of late, the boyf and i quite enjoyed it and spent the day on picnicing at the lake and swinging in the little kids playground. well, it was mostly me swinging (i should mention i have a 5 yr old mentality and would love my own swing set) and then mike hanging around like the monkey man he is:

weeee-oooo. so besides allergies of death, spring is here and i love it, esp. considering i havent had to work at my college for the past two weeks due to the May intercession. unfortunately, that short vacation ends next week, but at least all those 9-5 shifts will leave me plenty of time to blog more!

many pictures to post. wedding, boyf's graduation, and silly lazy spring days :) i would like to keep my spring/summer dress routine going strong, and bare toes to wiggle in the grass as much as possible.

so since i started this blog a few months back, i havent really had the time to update it. but now that junior year at Emerson is done and over with (*so many sighs of relief), i can now focus some more time on this.

thus, ive been adding/following a bunch of other bloggers that inspire me in some way, most if not all of them creative. so to keep this post short and sweet, thanks for letting me follow you! (in a completely non-creepster fashion, mind you). im working on strengthening my creative juices as well, so here's hoping for a strong start :)
